Privacy Policy
Your sermons are personal work and personal IP. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. In plain terms—we never train AI models on your content.
The short version
- We never train AI models on your sermons or content. Ever.
- We collect only what we need to run the coach: your account, the content you add, and your subscription status.
- Your content is processed by AI providers to generate coaching, under agreements that prohibit them from training on it or retaining it.
- You can export or delete your data at any time.
Who we are
Sermons.app (“Sermons.app,” “we,” “us”) is an AI sermon-coaching service operated by NewCulture. This policy covers our marketing site (www.sermons.app) and the application (coach.sermons.app). If you have questions, contact us at privacy@sermons.app.
Information we collect
Account information. When you sign up we collect your email address and a password, or—if you use Google sign-in—your basic Google profile (name, email). Authentication is handled by Supabase.
Content you provide. The heart of the service. This includes sermons and drafts you write or upload (PDF, DOCX, TXT, or pasted text), planning and coaching conversations, voice sources you add (links to your blogs, podcasts, or videos), audio you record, and the transcripts and generated summaries derived from all of the above.
Payment information. Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number—Stripe does. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status so we know what you have access to.
Technical information. Basic logs and device/browser data needed to operate, secure, and debug the service.
How we use your information
- To provide the coaching service—generate coaching, reviews, summaries, your preaching profile, and searchable sermon memory.
- To manage your account, trial, and subscription.
- To secure the service, prevent abuse, and debug problems.
- To communicate with you about your account and important changes.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do notuse your sermons or content to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI model—ours or anyone else’s.
AI processing of your content
To coach you, we send relevant portions of your content to AI providers who process it and return a result. We use:
- Anthropic (Claude)—coaching, reviews, and summaries.
- OpenAI—embeddings that power sermon search and memory.
- Groq and Deepgram—audio transcription.
Requests are routed through the Vercel AI Gateway. These providers act as our processors under terms that prohibit using your content to train their models and that limit retention to what’s needed to return a result.
How we share information
We share information only with service providers who help us run Sermons.app, and only as needed:
- Supabase—database, authentication, and file storage.
- Vercel—hosting and the AI Gateway.
- Stripe—payment processing and subscription management.
- The AI providers listed above—content processing.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service. If Sermons.app is involved in a merger or acquisition, we will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different policy.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored with Supabase and Vercel on managed cloud infrastructure. We use encryption in transit, scoped access controls (row-level security so you can only access your own data), and reasonable safeguards. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your sermons with the care they deserve.
Your rights and choices
- Access and export—you can export your sermons and drafts at any time.
- Correction—update your account details from your profile.
- Deletion—delete individual content or your entire account; deleting your account removes your content from our active systems.
- Marketing—opt out of non-essential email anytime.
Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA), you may have additional rights. To exercise any of them, email privacy@sermons.app.
Data retention
We keep your content for as long as your account is active. When you delete content or close your account, we remove it from our active systems and request deletion from our processors; routine backups may persist for a limited period before being overwritten.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in (scoped to .sermons.app so your session works across the marketing site and the app). We do not use advertising cookies.
Children
Sermons.app is for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. We’ll change the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email.
